   It wouldn’t hurt – at the very least you could get friends and possibly co-workers to read it.

   Yes, but you need a following on facebook and they have to be willing to click on the link. Also try twitter with a link, as long as you are posting something worth reading to others they will link over. Also you have to give it time traffic does not come over night.
